Ok I’m going to give it a rest with the smoothie bowls for a while, but at least I have some variety to work with for a little bit :) I used dragon fruit smoothie packets for this bowl; they were in the freezer section of Sprouts, the local health food store. I’m not gonna lie, I’m just in love with the color of this one! But it also tasted delicious as well. I keep meaning to make this as a post-workout meal, but I just can’t wait that long. I wake up and crave this for breakfast/lunch, but it’s a great snack or meal for anytime of the day!
Cherry Dragon Fruit Smoothie Bowl
1 dragon fruit smoothie pack
½ frozen banana
½ heaping cup frozen cherries
½ cup fresh strawberries
½ cup coconut milk
1 T chia seeds
1 T golden flax seeds
2 T vanilla whey protein (optional, I just wanted extra protein)
- Combine all ingredients in a blender, starting with liquid and softer ingredients.
- Top with whatever you desire: I used granola, fruit (kiwi and blueberries) and a drizzle of honey.
